On November 15, the 7th International Inspection, Testing Technology and Equipment Expo (hereinafter referred to as the 7th IITE) was grandly held in Guangzhou. Chi Haipeng, Chairman of Daina Technology, attended the opening ceremony as a specially invited guest and delivered a keynote speech titled “The History, Development, and Future of Dark-Light Laboratories” at the main forum.

That same afternoon, the "AI + Lights-out Laboratories" forum—co-organized by the China Chapter of I2SL International Sustainable Development Laboratories and Beijing Daina Experimental Technology Co., Ltd.—was successfully held. The forum brought together leading figures from China's laboratory industry to jointly discuss trends and the future of the lab sector, injecting powerful momentum into technological innovation and standard upgrades for AI + Lights-out Laboratories. The forum was chaired by Chi Haipeng, Chairman of the company, who also delivered a keynote speech.

Mr. Qu Fenghong, Deputy Secretary-General of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chief Expert of the China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association and the China International Travel Health Care Association, and Mr. Che Wenyi, former Executive Deputy Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation’s Certification and Accreditation Administration and the first President of the Sub-association of the International Association for Sustainable Development, delivered remarks at the event.

During the forum’s keynote session, seven industry leaders took turns to share cutting-edge insights.

Cheng Daojian, Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, was the first to unveil groundbreaking progress in “intelligent design and manufacturing of catalysts.” He elaborated in depth on how AI is driving reactors to achieve autonomous formulation design, transforming traditional experimental processes into highly efficient, intelligent production lines and paving a brand-new path for the paradigm shift in chemical experimentation.

Wang Sheng, founder of Zhiyu Shengke, presented the world’s first AI-driven implementation of “enzymatic ferulic acid vanillin.” He vividly demonstrated how artificial intelligence is transforming the entire fragrance manufacturing process to the cloud, enabling zero-distance production breakthroughs and reshaping the landscape of the fine chemical industry.

Chen Yi, Chief Analyst for Petrochemicals at Guojin Securities, analyzed the disruptive impact of AI on the chemical industry with detailed data. From the perspectives of finance and industry development, he precisely identified emerging investment opportunities in the sector and built a bridge between technology commercialization and capital deployment.

Liu Hailang, Intelligentization Manager of Shenghong Petrochemical Testing Laboratories, shared practical experience from the AI + Lights-out Laboratories, detailing how AI enables Shenghong Petrochemical Testing Laboratories to operate unmanned around the clock, providing a replicable success model for the AI-driven transformation of chemical enterprises.

Liu Xinxin, a researcher at the China Inspection and Certification Group Research Institute, focused on “Building and Applying a Standard System for Intelligent Laboratory Equipment.” She provided a detailed overview of the progress made by the National Technical Committee for Standards on Intelligent Laboratory Equipment, thoroughly analyzed the technical barriers to interoperability among different devices, and removed obstacles to the full-scale implementation of AI in laboratory settings.

In her talk, “The Path to Becoming an AI Scientist,” Dr. Chang Junhan, Head of R&D at DeepMind Technology’s Uni-Lab, systematically outlined the construction of an AI research ecosystem infrastructure and demonstrated how the integrated “read, compute, and do” platform is reshaping the future research paradigm.

Chi Haipeng, Chairman of Daina Technology, shared a report titled “How AI-Driven Dark-Lab Laboratories Are Transforming the Fields of Testing and R&D.” In the report, he systematically outlined how Daina Technology is leveraging AI-driven dark-lab laboratories—through the integration of AI and embodied intelligence technologies—to transform the traditional experimental paradigm characterized by “experimental instruments + localized automation + large-scale biological models.”

The forum venue was packed, and the attendees engaged in an in-depth dialogue centered on AI-powered innovation in laboratories.

During the Inspection and Testing Expo, Daina Technology was invited to launch the Quality and Technical Foundation Enhancement Initiative at the Seminar on Enhancing Inspection and Testing Technological Capabilities. This initiative is a clear requirement outlined in the 15th Five-Year Plan proposal. Daina Technology will work together with its member units to promote high-quality development in the laboratory sector.

During the expo, Daina Technology’s booth showcased the company’s latest technological achievements and equipment innovations in the field of AI + Lights-out Laboratories, attracting numerous professional visitors to stop and engage in discussions.

This forum, in conjunction with the exhibition, has successfully established an efficient closed-loop system encompassing "academic discussions—technological demonstrations—industry matchmaking." Leveraging the I2SL China Chapter as a platform, Daina Technology continues to drive the global laboratory sustainability journey and is making a pivotal contribution to the inspection and testing industry’s transition toward an intelligent and low-carbon future.
